At least 11 LIV players at the US Open

A number of LIV golfers will be competing in the U.S. Open after winning major championships.

The 84-player field for the US Open, announced by the United States Golf Association (USGA) today, includes 11 LIV players. Brooks Koepka (USA), who won his second major PGA Championship of the season on Feb. 22, is joined by Bryson DeChambeau (USA), Dustin Johnson (USA), Martin Kaymer (Germany), Phil Mickelson (USA), Cameron Smith (Australia), Joaquin Niemann (Chile), Abram Ancer (Mexico), Thomas Pieters (Belgium), Mito Pereira (Chile), and Patrick Reed (USA). Koepka is a two-time U.S. Open champion, while Johnson and DeChambeau also hold the trophy.

Tiger Woods (USA), a three-time U.S. Open winner, is a surprise omission. Woods, who was involved in a serious car accident in February 2021, underwent surgery on March 20 to treat inflammation in his right ankle. This is the same area that was injured in the accident. He is expected to take eight to 12 weeks to recover from the surgery.먹튀검증

Woods made the cut at the Masters, the first major of the season, but withdrew after the third round. He will skip the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. He is also unlikely to play in The Open in July.

Four South Korean players – Lim Sung-jae, Kim Joo-hyung, Kim Siwoo, and Lee Kyung-hoon – have qualified for the US Open. The rest of the field will be determined through qualifiers. This year’s US Open will be held at the Los Angeles CC in Los Angeles, California, USA, for four days starting June 16.
