‘Bae Jae-hwan to start’ Pittsburgh loses 2-3 to Texas

The Pittsburgh Pirates, with Bae Ji-hwan in the lineup, dropped a three-game series at home to the Texas Rangers.

The Pittsburgh Pirates fell 2-3 at home to the Texas Rangers on Friday (April 25) at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.

Pittsburgh has lost two straight after winning one of its three-game homestand. The Pirates, who improved to 25-24 on the season, moved to within two games of the National League Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers (27-22).

Texas remained atop the American League West with a 31-18 record.

Bae Ji-Hwan, who was scratched from the starting lineup, was a last-minute replacement. Trailing 2-3 in the bottom of the eighth, Pittsburgh walked Carlos Santana with runners on first and second and brought in Bae to pinch-hit.안전놀이터

Conor Jo drew a walk to load the bases, but the next batter was silent. Rodolfo Castro flied out to left field and Zack Suwinski struck out swinging.

Bae Ji-Hwan played center field on defense in the top of the ninth, and then on offense in the bottom of the ninth, the first three batters were stranded and never got a chance to hit.

Pittsburgh scored three runs in the first inning, including a solo shot by Marshall. In the bottom of the inning, the Pirates had the bases loaded and a Suwinski infield single and Jason Delay RBI single cut the deficit to 2-3, but a Chris Oswing double with runners on first and third put the game out of reach.

Pittsburgh starter Johan Oviedo suffered his fourth loss of the season (3-3) after allowing six runs (one earned) on six hits with two walks and five strikeouts in 5⅔ innings.

After one day of rest, Pittsburgh will play a six-game road trip from May 27-June 1 against the Seattle Mariners and San Francisco Giants.
