College Football Betting Preview: Tests Loom For Top-Ranked Teams

Up until now, there have not been many top ranked college football teams that have been tested in the early part of the season. For most, a couple of conference games against lesser opponents and an out of conference gimme versus a non-DI school is all that has been on the schedule.

That all changes this weekend. After weeks of not much movement in the top ten, this week could prove pivotal for teams looking to make a championship run. There are three games with ranked teams facing off, and several others with programs facing other teams that are just outside of the top 25. 메이저사이트

The biggest game of the week figures to be down in Baton Rouge. Tenth-ranked LSU will host 17th ranked Florida. The two teams each have a loss, and a second loss would end any hope that either has of playing for a national championship.

Odds makers have installed the Tigers as a touchdown favorite over the Gators. LSU’s loss came at the hands of conference rival Georgia, while the Gators only defeat came in South Florida, against in-state rival Miami. The total for the game is 48.

The 2nd-ranked team in the nation, Oregon, will also get their first true test this week when they travel to Washington to play the 16th-ranked Huskies. The Ducks come into the road match-up favored by 14 points. As is the case with most Oregon games, a shootout is expected, with the total hovering around 76.

Georgia, which has played one of the toughest schedules in the country to date, will host conference foe Missouri in the only other game where top 25 teams are squaring off. The Bulldogs, led by quarterback Aaron Murray, are eight point favorite over the Tigers. A total of 64 indicates that plenty of points are expected in Georgia on Saturday.

The Mack Brown clock has been ticking in Texas, and this weekend could be Brown’s last stand as many Texas boosters are calling for his ouster. The Longhorns host #12 Oklahoma, and are 14 point underdogs at home.
