Los Angeles Dodgers send to Galle, sign JD Martinez as free agent

The Major League Baseball (MLB) Los Angeles Dodgers failed to capture Joey Gallo, who had qualified as a free agent, but instead recruited veteran free agent JD Martinez to reinforce their lineup. On the 18th (Korean time), MLB.com, the official homepage of Major League Baseball, said, “The Dodgers have reached an agreement with Martinez.”

Martinez signed on the condition of receiving $10 million (approximately 13.1 billion won) for one year for the contract period. MLB.com introduced, “The Dodgers gained the right-handed designated hitter feeling with the recruitment of Martinez,” and “Martinez recorded a career OPS of 0.988 against left-handed pitchers.” 토토

Marnetis made his MLB debut in 2011 with the Houston Astros. He later went through the Detroit Tigers and Arizona Diamondbacks before wearing a Boston uniform in 2018.

Although he slowed down in the second half of this season, he played in 139 games and recorded a batting average of .275 with 16 home runs and 62 RBIs. In his 12 seasons so far, his personal career record has been in 1409 games, with a batting average of 2.8 par, 282 home runs and 899 runs batted in.

Gallo moved to the Minnesota Twins for 1 year and 11 million dollars (approximately 14.4 billion won) during the contract period. Gallo moved to the Dodgers after playing for the New York Yankees this season.

He has been lackluster all season. He appeared in 44 games with the Yankees and Dodgers, batting 1/6 with 19 home runs and 47 RBI.

After making his MLB debut with the Texas Rangers in 2015, Gallo hit 41 home runs in 2017 and 40 home runs in 2018, but only hit 12 home runs for the Yankees and 7 home runs for the Dodgers this year.

His personal career record is a batting average of 1.99 with 177 home runs and 386 RBIs in 752 appearances.
